Blog 1: Shakespeare influences

Since writing is another form of art that is completely related to the artist’s idea of the world and its unique perception of life as well as any factors that may interact directly or indirectly during the creation of their work, Shakespeare’s writing is also influenced by the artist experiences and everything that surrounds him.
The film Shakespeare in love illustrates Shakespeare personal situation in those times where human behavior and ideas are different to ours. Their clothes suggest a conservative culture where the idea of purity, integrity, honor and social stratification created limitations for people like Shakespeare who was a master having no privileges as those in the top class.
The film suggests that Shakespeare social limitations and the conservative culture influenced his view of love and women which as suggested by the film are different since Shakespeare consider women not only as a jewelry to wear just to achieve the society requirements to social distinction but as a person which is able to love to decide to think and feel and also as a person which is intelligently sufficient to be respected loved and treated equally. Letting Viola ideas and words to be the source of inspiration to his work shows that even people around him shape Shakespeare writing.
The Film also illustrated how his personal emotions and love to Viola triggered by the feeling of loosing her by the society rules shaped the final of the play into a dramatic and sad ending opposed to the society expectative of having a happy ending. The name of the play “Romeo and Juliet” name that is not the name Shakespeare tough but the one his friend suggested in one of the several comments he received from actors and other playwrights while writing his play is an illustration of how Shakespeare work was deeply impacted by different factors in his writing.

Good entry--would you say Sh. was a man of his times or a man opposed to his times?
